Story time with DevilStick Peat

FREE STORY TIME

About a decade ago I done some performance work in Milton Keynes.
Yesterday a school worker who’d seen some of my shows contacted me, asking if I could put something online to entertain the children of key workers and vulnerable children in her primary school.

My first thought was that I’d make a video of me telling a story, one that I’d written years ago for my own children and email it to her.

My second thought was to run a “pay me via PayPal to view it” storytelling business.

But my last and final thought Is this:

Even though, as a self-employed performer, the UK government has refused me ANY FINANCIAL HELP. I’ll put it on YouTube so that any child or school anywhere can watch it for free.

It is free because you, like myself, might be one of the 5 million self-employed people that, at the time of writing this, has received no government help during the coronavirus lockdown.

It is free because, as a member of the NHS or emergency services you deserve this small symbol of my thanks, not just for what you’ve done, but also for what, over the next few months, you’re going to do.

It’s free because if you can’t pay me to entertain your kids in these troubling times, then I’m not hard enough to turn you away.

HOWEVER,

If you can donate and wish to, then my PayPal details are as follows.
